Financial Controller / Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller/Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive UK accounting experience and will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of our partner companies in the residential, construction and M&E sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Oversee cash flow management and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations and oversee tax planning
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to support business decision-making
  • Report directly to our finance director and support to develop the finance team

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role with UK experience
  • Expert level English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and tax regulations
  • Experience with financial software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience with Quick Books / Xero
